MSE INSTALLS INTERACTIVE MULTI MEDIA DESIGNS FOR A WEST COAST RETAIL CLIENT
MSE helped develop interactive multi media promotional kiosks for a retail retail client who wished to test market them in selected west coast locations. In challenging times, retailers must use innovative means to motivate purchasing behavior. Multi Media narrowcasting and digital messaging systems offer an effective way to alert potential purchasers to in-store promotions and specials, to showcase new products, or to shape the mood for the overall store experience. These systems can be managed locally, or remotely from a central location, and can control one or multiple locations. Sales performance can quickly provide feedback on effectiveness, and the systems provide great flexibility in changing the content whenever desired.

MSE MANAGES AND SERVICES SECURITY TECHNOLOGY AT 1,000 LOCATIONS
MSE has now installed, and manages and maintains security technology at over 1,000 locations for a Fortune 10 retail client. This undertaking requires efficient installation coordination, quick and effective service dispatch, practical remote diagnostics, a good technology support team, and hands-on project management. MSE can support individualized client needs, from the least to the most demanding.

MSE HELPS STUDENTS AT AN UPSTATE AG-TECH COLLEGE LOOK AT THEIR HORSES
Colleges must be competitive to attract prospective students. For a rural Ag-Tech college, this might mean developing innovative equestrian programs where students can bring their horses with them to college, and can board them in modern stables provided by the college. MSE helped provide CCTV cameras in horse stalls for just such a program, so that students could check on their horses at any time over the internet from their dorm rooms, or from home during school breaks, The technology is not new, but MSE can help you to develop and implement technologies like these in innovative and individualized applications.

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL AND CCTV SYSTEMS FOR A NEW STATE UNIVERSITY WELLNESS CENTER, GYM, AND ATHLETIC COMPLEX
MSE was chosen by competitive bid to provide access control and CCTV systems for the new gym and athletic center at the State University of New York campus at New Paltz. This modern complex offers the student community amenities such as 4 racquetball courts, an 1,800 seat area, dance studio, fencing room, weight training room, six lane swimming pool, cardiovascular wellness center, window lined indoor jogging track, and more. With much of the facility designed in an open and exposed architectural style, MSE wiring and conduit were subject to special aesthetic conditions. MSE also provided special ADA controls and handicapped functions within the access control system that allows it to distinguish between the general student population and handicapped
students to determine way the automatic openers on the main doors operate, to facilitate ease of entry and egress.

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL UPGRADES AND IMPROVEMENTS FOR 27 STATE PRISONS
MSE is in the process of upgrading the access control systems used in state prisons and correctional facilities, with 27 state correctional facilities completed to date. Improvements include redundant design, to address potential issues such as power disruption or fire emergency, while still maintaining locking integrity in these secured facilities. In medium and high security detention environments like these, there are a number of unique challenges for installation and repair personnel. Entry and exiting is both limited and tightly controlled, and all activity escorted. Communications devices are prohibited, and all tools and materials are closely accounted for. In addition to our detention clients, MSE also maintains sallyport controls for several secured treatment facilites. MSE is accustomed to working under unusual conditions, doing whatever is necessary to meet client needs.

MSE INSTALLS AN INNOVATIVE WIRELESS MESH TRANSMISSION SYSTEM, WITH CCTV AND ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS, AT A HOUSING AUTHORITY
Creating a cost effective video surveillance system of 83 cameras to cover and link 5 housing complexes, each of which containing an average of 15 buildings, with the facilities spread over 10 square miles of city, and overlapping a busy airport (and all without direct line of sight), represented a real and significant challenge. Trenching and wiring was not an option, and neither was conventional point to point RF links. Teaming with technology expert Dr Adam Thermos, with technology partners Fluidmesh and GE, and with FIOS provider Verizon, MSE installed a Fluidmesh self healing multi frequency wireless mesh network, GE DVRs in an edge technology configuration, GE cameras, and a GE Casi access control system, and was able to successfully met the design requirements of this complex and sophisticated installation.

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL AND CCTV AT A NEW MUSEUM AND ARTS CENTER FOR A PRIVATE COLLEGE
MSE was chosen by competitive bid to provide the access control and the CCTV systems for a new Art Center Complex and Art Museum at a private Catholic University. The project had some special and interesting elements. In addition to controlling the perimeter entrance points, the access system was utilized to monitor moisture sensors in elevator shafts, so as to provide an early warning of any potential flooding problems at the bottom of the shafts. The stage lighting associated with the performing arts stages created some challenges. And extra CCTV mounting points were created and wired in the Art Galleries, so that the staff would be able to shift cameras in the future to accommodate the differing needs of new exhibitions.

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL FOR EIGHT MEDICAL IMAGING CENTERS
MSE has installed access control systems for eight New England medical imaging facilities in order to accommodate the unique ways in which the facilities are shared by a large, professional, and highly mobile medical staff. It is increasingly common for an associated medical staff to share both facilities and infrastructure in an outpatient setting. Access control allows seamless movement of staff in and between facilities without the use or hassle of keys while maintaining a high level of security. In the case of imaging facilities, with the investment cost of a single MRI machine as much as several million dollars, the sensitive nature of medical records, and the difficulty of coordinating a large staff with flexible hours, an access system is really an ideal way to provide a combination of convenience, management control, safety, and security. MSE specializes in multi site systems.

MSE INSTALLS A DIGITAL NARROWCASTING MESSAGE SYSTEM FOR A NEW ENGLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Community colleges face unique challenges. These may include adaptive reuse of facilities, and an increasing and highly mobile population of student commuters, where the conventional practice of reaching students through their computer in a timely fashion is difficult. MSE was selected to implement a modern narrowcasting and digital message system throughout the facility of a vertical community college, so that students at every floor and level could view posted information on upcoming events, classroom room assignment changes, registration schedules, class cancellations, snow days, emergencies, and all other critical student information. The system architecture allows posting information specific to an individual location or screen, alternating with general facilty wide content. Since the college had its own media center and broadcast technology studies, students could directly contribute to the process of content development. The system has proved to be a most effective means to communicate with the student population in real time.

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL CARD READER ENTRY FOR THE SCIENCE FACILITIES AT A STATE UNIVERSITY

MSE provided access control implementation for the Science building as part of ongoing renovations at a state university in New York, one of a number of separate universities around the state that make up the State University of New York (SUNY) system.

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL AND CCTV SYSTEMS FOR A NEWSPAPER AND A MEDIA FACILITY

MSE was selected to provide access control and CCTV systems for a publishing and printing facility in Northern New England. The systems that MSE provided protected the perimeter security of this modern new facility. But as an industrial facility, the client also needed the ability to monitor certain interior spaces, such as the printing press rooms and the storage areas for racking bulk paper rolls, where occupational safety measures were critical for staff safety. MSE also provided cameras to monitor these critical interior spaces. The exterior installations required some special measures, as the region frequently experiences freezing rain during some seasons.

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM FOR THE FINE ARTS COMPLEX  AT A NEW YORK UNIVERSITY

MSE provided access control for the Fine Arts Complex and for the Arts building at a state university in upstate New York

MSE INSTALLS BARRIER TURNSTILES FOR 2 SECURED TRANSPORTATION HUBS, PLUS  A SECURED POWER GENERATING PLANT

MSE crews installed Alvarado security turnstiles and man gates at two new secured regional transportation hubs on the east coast. MSE crews also installed an Alvardo security turnstile at a power generating facility in New England. These powered units are designed to become part of a perimeter fence line, and are designed to block entrance (and  sometimes egress) except as allowed by an access control system, a telephone entry system, or other means of control. These are typically utilized when a facility needs to extend area protection beyond the building perimeter. While it was once common to have a manned guard booth, facilities are increasingly looking to automatic vehicle gates, barrier turnstiles, and man gates( wheelchairs can't go through turnstiles) to provide a secured area in conjunction with access or entry systems.

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL FOR  WAREHOUSES AT SECURED POWER GENERATING PLANTS

The 9/11 incident forever changed how we view security measures at sites designated as being part of our critical infrastructure, including public utilities and power generating facilities. MSE crews have been involved in a number of projects to provide access control for auxiliary buildings at  power plants and power generation facilities throughout the northeast, and to service, repair, or add to access control and CCTV systems at the plants themselves. These facilities are often in exposed locations along the shore (to facilitate coal barges, or the ocean transportation of components too large or too heavy to travel by highway. The salt spray and maritime environment associated with these locations is one of the toughest possible on exterior equipment and on wiring connections. MSE offers system repair, troubleshooting, and service to a wide range of facilities

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL FOR RESIDENTIAL HOUSING DORMS AND HOUSES AT A PRIVATE EASTERN COLLEGE

As some colleges transition away from fraternity & sorority systems, they often inherit a quantity of additional housing buildings, and the challenges associated with integrating them into their student dormitory and residential housing programs. Residential housing units are often among the first buildings addressed within a campus wide implementation of access control and CCTV systems. MSE has installed access control for a number of dormitory and residential housing units for a private eastern college. The wide variation in building age, building construction, door and frame condition, and the occasional presence of any building materials that require remediation or special handling present challenges. MSE offers a wide range of hardware to cope with different door conditions.

MSE UPGRADES ACCESS CONTROL AT A VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

Volunteer fire departments operate in ways that make access control systems a very practical choice for both extending and regulating who has entry privileges. These organizations often have a large membership, frequent membership turnover, and the legitimate need for members to get into the fire house at odd hours, including in response to calls. At the same time, there may be areas such as tool rooms or supply rooms that should not be accessible to the general membership. And the ability to track who has been in the firehouse is always a good idea, if for no more serious reason than to know who made a mess and didn't clean up after themselves. MSE can provide these sorts of practical entry solutions for a wide variety of facilities with similar needs, from fire houses and police stations to clubs and VFW halls.

MSE INSTALLS ACCESS CONTROL IN A MAJOR METROPOLITAN TEACHING HOSPITAL

Hospitals always have security problems. They are essentially public places that are easy to get into, full of things to take, and opportunities to do so. So it makes sense to employ electronic security systems wherever possible. MSE has installed additional access control capability at a large metropolitan teaching hospital. Unique challenges included dealing with lead lined walls to shield imaging equipment in certain areas of the hospital, and the constant and busy activity of the hospital and rooms to be secured. MSE can assist any type of facility to reduce problem activities though practical security technology measures.
